Mustique Mechanical services has a wide selection of Jeeps, mules, motor-scooters and mountain bikes for rent. Drivers must hold a current St. Vincent and the Grenadines driving license, available from Immigration at the Airport or Police Station for US $20. Drivers must be at least 17 years of age. Mustique might be smaller and sleepier than other Caribbean islands, but that doesn't mean that it is completely devoid of things to do and see. Its green hills and friendly people, especially, provide ample reason to get out and enjoy your surroundings. Most residents and visitors here rely on the most famous of Mustique rentals - a heavy-duty golf cart called a "Mule" - to get around. The island is simply too small to make any bigger Mustique rentals, like cars, worthwhile. Mustique rentals of the four-legged variety are popular as well: the Mustique Equestrian Centre has a stable of horses and ponies to carry guests around the island, a romantic way to experience it at a leisurely pace. Mountain bikes are also available for rent on Mustique. Rentals start at US$30 per day, but daily rates decrease with the amount of days rented.The Mustique Company charges US$65 per day for a small Mule (two-seater) and $85 per day for a large Mule (six-seater). Daily rates drop according to the length of your rental period. Bicycles and scooters are also available to rent from the Mustique Company. Although the Mustique Company does have a small fleet of four-seater Jeeps, car rentals aren't necessary for most guests on the island. Walking, in fact, is another very popular method of getting around here and a great way of working of those calories from the specialties at the world-famous Basil's Beach Bar! |
